Ciel Elsner
DirectingRooted in both sensory experience and critical reflection, her practice draws on historical and sociological research to challenge contemporary ideologies and expose the mechanisms through which normative systems perpetuate violence. Language, voice, sound, and the body function as living, polymorphous materials, capable of breaking down, becoming saturated, malfunctioning, or resisting. Fragility and endurance coexist, often pushed to their limits.
Her artistic approach unfolds as a critical reflection on power structures, collective memory, and the persistence of systemic violence, while simultaneously imagining moments of rupture and reversal. By constructing autofictional ecosystems and transdisciplinary forms, she creates experiences that oscillate between exhaustion and catharsis, spaces where violence is made visible, destabilized, and temporarily displaced, leaving the audience exposed to what remains unresolved.
